Jhansi(Uttar Pradesh): Starved migrant workers ,who were waiting to board the Special Shramik train looted food packets and snacks from vendors at Jhansi railway station on Tuesday, prompting cops to resort to lathicharge.

According to reports, Railways had instructed vendors to arrange food packets for the migrant labourers who registered for the travel. In the video, workers can be seen snatching food packets and boarding the train in a hurry.

"Food packets were arranged for the migrant workers but they started snatching it from the vendors. We brought the situation under control and also distributed food packets among the workers", said Public Relation Officer Manoj Kumar Singh.

He said,"RPF Jawans took immediate action upon learning of the incident and lathicharged them. The situation was pacified after which train left the station".
