Jaipur: After Vikas Dubey, the wanted criminal behind the killing of eight police personnel, was killed in an alleged encounter, questions are being raised on Rajasthan's police efficiency. The questions raise doubts on the competence of Rajasthan police.
Dubey had driven to Kota before reaching Madhya Pradesh in a 1500-km journey. Uttar Pradesh police had given specific inputs to the Rajasthan team but still, the fugitive gangster managed to flee. According to experts, this is complete negligence on the part of Rajasthan's intelligence unit for not being able to arrest the dreaded gangster.
One of the officials who was privy to information on Vikas Dubey's interrogation said that he had spent a night in Kota before his arrest.
According to UP cops, after Rajasthan police were alerted, security was tightened in Alwar, Bharatpur, and its adjoining areas. Security was also beefed up in the border areas close to Delhi but Dubey was still at large.

Despite heavy deployment of security forces, Vikas Dubey managed to travel to Dausa, Lalsot, and Sawai Madhopur and reached Madhya Pradesh. He even drove to Kota but still the state police failed to nab him.
Evading UP Policemen on his trail for almost a week, Dubey had run from Kanpur to Faridabad in Haryana where he escaped from a hotel before the cops arrived. He travelled to Rajasthan and finally to Ujjain, where he was identified and arrested.
Dubey was killed in an encounter on Friday morning when the SUV he was being brought in overturned and he was killed while trying to flee. Police asserted that he snatched the gun of a policeman fired at the cops. Police personnel retaliated and he was killed after a week's long chase.
