Lucknow: Ahead of the Rajya Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh, candidates from various political spectrums are leaving no stone unturned to woo the voters. Rajan Yadav alias Arthi Baba, an independent candidate, has shot to limelight these days owing to his unique style of campaigning. He is contesting from Deoria in Uttar Pradesh.
Yadav is polishing shoes and washing feet of the voters ahead of the Uttar Pradesh elections believing that this will outshine him from other candidates. Not only this, Yadav is also selling coconuts and juice of dried mangoes. The independent candidate was also spotted harvesting crops with farmers in their fields.
The unique style of campaigning has helped to lure the voters and people have started addressing him as 'God'.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Yadav said, "I am washing the feet of elderly people and women as they will decide my fate in this election. Voters are equivalent to God. The political leaders live a lavish life, get a handsome salary...because of the voters' blessings. I consider them as 'God' and this is the reason why I am polishing their shoes and washing their feet.
Rajan Yadav has completed his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gorakhpur University. The Rajya Sabha elections is scheduled to be held in the state on November 9 and the results will be declared on Nov 10.
