Unnao (Uttar Pradesh): The daughter of convict Kuldeep Sengar, currently lodged in Tihar Jail, for life for raping a minor in 2017, has submitted a complaint letter to Unnao Superintendent of Police demanding action against Congress leader Alka Lamba for having “falsely” accused her father of getting bail while using “indecent language” in a tweet.

The entire controversy erupted from a tweet dated May 23, 2020, wherein former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) member and now Congress leader Alka Lamba accused the Allahabad High Court of granting bail to Kuldeep Sengar at the behest of the Prime Minister and Home Minister.

“Alka Lamba had tweeted saying that my father had gotten bail while using indecent language. I would like to say that someone else has been given bail in the case and that we did not file any such bail petition in the court,” Aishwarya Sengar, the daughter of Kuldeep Sengar told ETV Bharat. “Her comments have caused mental distress to me and my sister, which is why I came to the police station today demanding an inquiry against her.”

The district police, in the meantime, has filed a report based on the complaint. “A report has been filed against Alka Lamba and Dharna Patel accusing them of passing indecent comments against the family through their Twitter account. So we have filed a case and will investigate the matter,” said Vikrantveer, SP, Unnao.

Meanwhile, the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad high court on Friday granted conditional bail to Mahesh Singh, uncle of Unnao rape survivor, in a cheating case registered against him at Kotwali police station, Unnao.
