New Delhi: Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said that farmers' protests will come to an end amicably after the Central government succeeds in making the protestors understand the farm law and listens to their complaints, gradually coming on the same platform.

Speaking to ETV Bharat exclusively, Javadekar said the farmers had some issues and that's why they are protesting. But, a lot of political parties are now trying to make it about them by politicising the event.

"Parties like Congress who themselves in their times, had proposed rules like the Farm laws are now criticizing and opposing it. It is as if they make any rule it's acceptable, but if Modi makes rules, it is wrong," Javadekar said.

Further taking a dig at Congress, he said, the Congress in their 2019 election manifesto had proposed the same amendments that our Farm laws propose but now they are against it which only shows there double standards and propaganda based politics.

"Earlier, they themselves wanted the winter session of Parliament to not function in wake of Corona, now since they want to cash in on the farmers' protests they are demanding the convening of the session," Javadekar added.

"They aren't able to even gather minimum support for themselves and are going and inflaming the farmers regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP)," Javadekar said.

Reassuring that MSP will be retained, the Information and Broadcasting Minister said that MSP will not be altered. It will be like how it has been for the last 55 years. People should not believe such hoaxes.

When asked whether Bharat Bandh was a success or not, the minister said that states around Punjab where several parties were also promoting the Bandh, the effect was seen, otherwise, all the other places had a normal working day.

Talking about Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s an impressive feat at the recently concluded Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, Javadekar said that the people have now realised who works for the development of people and who only served their family.

Indirectly hinting at Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and dynasty politics, he added that unlike some political parties who only want to improve the lives of their families, BJP works for the development of the society.
