He stated that the UK followed three-stage prevention technique including primary, secondary and tertiary prevention to combat the spread of COVID19.

He also described how strict social distancing and self-awareness about pandemic has helped the United Kingdom to gain a huge success in the prevention of several positive cases.

Patil also revealed that while taking tertiary prevention, only 5 per cent COVID infection cases involving people aged above 70 or suffering from cardiovascular and respiratory disease and pregnant women have been taken care with ICU facility with ventilator in the hospitals.

Discussing the loop-holes in tackling the spread of COVID19 infection across the UK, he said that lack of supply of PPE equipment was a major drawback.

He also stressed that medical practitioners need to tackle the pandemic along with other diseases and they also have to take care of the ill effects of the infection while treating COVID patients as the situation is getting worse and the UK must prepare for it.

He also criticised the delayed action taken by world nations in setting up lockdown process by asserting that the governments across the globe must have blocked the flights from China's Wuhan way back in the month of January when the first case was detected. Timely action would have controlled the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, speaking about the preventive measure to be taken to tackle the spread of COVID in India, Dr Patil said that India should enforce social distancing and people need to be made aware of the consequences of the illness.

He also stated that the Indian government must test all the vulnerable population which lives in slums, lack basic facilities and does not have enough savings to sustain their lives.

Talking about the supportive care measure for effective treatment of COVID patients he said that they should be given paracetamol and must have plenty of fluid for the speedy recovery and avoid contact with people.

Focusing on the steps to control the spread of coronavirus in India, he said the government should increase the intensive care capacity nationwide.
