New Delhi: Denouncing Lok Sabha member and president of the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) Badruddin Ajmal for his opposition to the Assam government’s two-child policy for job eligibility, BJP Rajya Sabha MP Rakesh Sinha on Tuesday said the policy was need of the hour and directed against any religion or community.
Interacting with the ETV bharat here, Sinha, also a RSS thinker, said people like Ajmal were not concerned for the welfare of the Muslim community and would make irrelevant statements.
"I want to ask him (Badruddin Ajmal) if countries like Bangladesh and others, who have made two-children a norm, are not Muslim nations," he said, adding that there are six Muslim countries that have made it a law.
Sinha said the decision taken by the Assam government was "necessary and timely".
He said slogan 'Hum do, Hamre do' (We two and ours two) of the 70s is relevant and very much needed to ensure over all development of the nation.
