New Delhi: In its response to the Supreme Court (SC), the Bihar government said that the subject matter of investigation before Mumbai police in Sushant Singh Rajput death case is only of unnatural death which has a very limited scope of just ascertaining if the death was unnatural or not.
Besides, there was no cognizance case had been registered in Mumbai and yet the police were not cooperating with Bihar police even though the FIR was filed in Bihar itself.

The affidavit has come as a response to the top court which earlier directed both Bihar and Maharashtra governments to file their replies on a plea by Rhea Chakraborty seeking transfer of cases from Bihar to Mumbai.
"It is most respectfully submitted that in Sushant Singh Rajput death case the victim Mr Krishna Kishore Singh who has lost his young, vibrant son due to actions committed by the accused persons including the petitioner herein. Hence, Patna police have jurisdiction to register FIR and the court at Patna has jurisdiction to try offence as mentioned in the FIR Nom 241/2020 registered with Rajeev Nagar P.S(Patna)," read the affidavit.
Bihar police have alleged that Mumbai police of non-cooperating. It said that Mumbai police did not share information including Inquest report, post-mortem report, FSL report, CCTV footage etc in the case.
Besides, it also alleged that IPS Vinay Tiwari who was in the Special Investigation Teams (SIT) reached Mumbai, got quarantined there.
Meanwhile, Sushant Singh Rajput case has been taken over by CBI as per Bihar's recommendation.
