A delegation of "Scientists for the people" have written an open letter to the Member of Parliament (MP) from Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa, Avinash Reddy, demanding that a referendum be held on the expansion of the uranium refinery in the Vemula Mandal of the Kadapa district.

3. Petition for release of Kerala journalist adjourned

Hearing a plea seeking immediate release of a senior Kerala journalist Siddique Kappan, a bench, headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde has adjourned for the third week of January. The journalist was arrested along with some others by the Uttar Pradesh Police on October 5 while on their way to cover the Hathras incident.

4.BJP kick starts special campaign on farm bills

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday kick-started his massive counter-offensive campaign on the new farm bills by addressing its first press conference. BJP national spokesperson Sambit Patra started the campaign and launched an attack on the opposition parties, accusing them of misleading the farmers.
