1. PM Modi to lay foundation stone of Ram temple on Aug 5

In a two-hour-long meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust presided over by Mahant Nritya Gopal, it was decided that the Ram temple will be a towering 161 feet high structure with five domes. The overall look and design of the Ram temple were also discussed in the meeting and PM Narendra Modi is expected to lay the foundation stone on August 5.

2. Delhi: BSF soldier writes to top police brass, seeks protection for family

An Additional Skill Identifier(ASI) with the Border Security Force has written to the top Delhi police brass demanding strict action after his family members were brutally assaulted by their neighbours. Suresh Kumar, who is posted in Kashmir's Baramulla, sought cops' help urging them to take immediate action against the accused.

3. Nepali citizens uproot pillar near Sita Cave in Bihar

Tension prevailed in the area after Nepali citizens allegedly uprooted a pillar near the Sita cave at the Indo-Nepal border in Bihar. Pillar 436 at No Men's land in Bhikhanathori of West Champaran was uprooted as Nepalis have started to stake claims on sites associated with Lord Ram near Indo-Nepal border.

4. Delhi rains: Tempo driver dies of drowning, 3 others rescued

After a body was found under Delhi's Minto Bridge on Sunday morning, the police have said that the person, identified as Kundan Singh, may have died due to drowning. Indian Meteorological Department has predicted thunderstorm with rain in the national capital and neighbouring areas till July 21.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) arrested seven people from Mulund on Sunday for black marketing of Remdesivir, the injection used for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Acting on a tip-off, the FDA official laid a trap and pretended as a customer to catch them red-handed.

7. Varavara Rao shifted to Nanavati for neurological treatment

Poet Varavara Rao has been shifted from the state-run St George Hospital in south Mumbai to the Nanavati Hospital for neurological and urological treatment. Neurologists from the state-run J J hospital checked him on Friday and he was diagnosed as having delirium.

A local court here on Saturday remanded Sanjay Jain, whose name had surfaced in a viral audio recording about horse-trading of legislators to topple the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government in Rajasthan, to four-day police custody. Sanjay Jain was arrested by the Special Operations Group (SOG) of Rajasthan Police on Friday night and produced before the court where the magistrate remanded him to the police custody.

A bus got stuck in a waterlogged road under Minto Bridge following heavy rainfall in the national capital Sunday morning. However, fire department officials rescued people on board. Heavy rains lashed Delhi today bringing much-needed respite for residents from the scorching heat.

10. COVID-19: AIIMS to start clinical trial of indigenous vaccine Covaxin from Monday

Hyderabad-based Bharat Biotech in collaboration with the ICMR and the National Institute of Virology has got its approval from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Ethics Committee for conducting the human clinical trial of the COVID-19 vaccine. The pharma giant will start the trial process from Monday.
