Rewa (Madhya Pradesh): A two-year-old boy remains critical after he fell from the terrace of his house and was impaled on an iron rod in Patna village of Madhya Pradesh's Rewa district.
Rudra Pandey lost a lot of blood as the iron rod pierced through his abdomen.
The toddler was rushed to the Sanjay Gandhi hospital in Rewa, where he was admitted in the general surgery ward.
A team of four doctors including general surgeons and paediatricians operated on the injury for nearly 40 minutes and successfully removed the iron rod, apart from repairing the damaged arteries.
Despite a successful operation, Rudra has been put on life support in the ICU of the surgery ward.
"Around 12:50 pm, Rudra Pandey was brought to the hospital. He was immediately admitted to the surgery ward and we started the operation at 1:30 pm. A team of four doctors performed the surgery. But, his condition is still critical, " said Yatnesh Tripathi, CMO Sanjay Gandhi Hospital Rewa.
