New Delhi: After getting halt from the Indian Railways for the upgradation of systems, the semi-high speed train Tejas Express, equipped with state of the art facilities for the passengers, has finally got ready and reached New Delhi. This train will run between New Delhi and Lucknow.
Tejas Express is the first semi-high speed train of Indian Railways. The first Tejas ran from Mumbai to Goa. This will be the second Tejas Express which will be running between New Delhi and Lucknow.
Lucknow Shatabdi takes six hours to reach Lucknow from New Delhi. However, the semi-high speed Tejas Express will take only 5 hours 45 minutes to reach to its destination as it will run with the speed of 200 km per hour.
In addition to all the automatic features, the safety of the passengers in this vehicle has also been taken care of during the production of this train. It is also being expected that the new system will save time, fuel and power.
The announcement to run Tejas Express was being made by then Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu in 2016. According to the sources, this train is also proposed for the route of Delhi-Chandigarh.
