Surat (Gujarat): In a major development, a doctor in Gujarat's Surat - Dhanaji Rajani has reportedly invented a new technique to detect and diagnose Tuberculosis (TB) at a nominal cost.
The medical research, which took nearly two years, has been patterned by the Government of India (GoI) in July for the next 20 years.
The research was carried out in Micro Care Laboratory in collaboration with the Gujarat University to provide relief to the patients of TB.
With the help of this research, the fatal disease will be diagnosed through urine and blood samples with the help of a dye within five minutes.
The reports will be provided to the patients at a minimum cost of ten rupees.
In 2013, Dr Rajani had signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Gujarat University, to find an instant and cost-effective method to detect TB.
With timely detection, the treatment can also be started at the earliest.
The research aims to provide a cheaper and instant test result of TB through urine and blood samples apart from the cough test which is not easily applicable to HIV positive patients and kids.
