Namakkal (Tamil Nadu): Parents of a five-year-old girl, who was allegedly molested by a minor boy near Tamil Nadu's Tiruchengode, reportedly consumed poison alleging that police did not act on their complaint.
"When the incident came to light, the girl's parents were immediately rushed to a government hospital in Tiruchengode. They are undergoing treatment. We have promised them to initiate an action in the case", informed Jodaarpazhayam police.
According to the girl's parents, the girl was molested on May 16 and after four days, they reached out to the police to register a complaint. But cops did not pay heed and no complaint was registered, citing 'busy corona schedules'. The family also claimed that they reached out to the emergency control room but did not receive any response.
Police officials said that a complaint will be lodged and they will probe into the case.
