Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh): Tablighi Jamaat members admitted in an isolation ward allegedly refused to eat food and misbehaved with the hospital staff, prompting authorities to take legal action, officials informed on Sunday.
Sixty of the seventy members who tested positive for the coronavirus are admitted in the isolation ward at Hallet Hospital.
"The Jamaat members refused to eat food provided by the hospital authorities and are demanding for non-vegetarian food. They misbehaved with the ward boys by throwing the food plates and assaulted them", said Dr. Aarti Lalchandani, Principal and Dean of the GSVM Medical College.

She said, "Our team is engaged in providing healthcare services to those admitted here. We are giving them adequate food and water on time but still, they are misbehaving with our medical staff. Despite giving them rice, dal, salad in their meals, they demand good food. It is sad that during lockdown when most of the people are not getting food, they are wasting food".
The hospital administration has informed the Principal Secretary regarding misbehaviour of the Tablighi Jamaat members, the doctor added.
