Lucknow: The police on Saturday nabbed one of the two suspects in the alleged murder of an administrative officer of Kabir Math in Madiyanva area of Lucknow city.
"The accused identified as Jitendra was shot in his leg while he was trying to flee the spot whereas another managed to escape," the police said.
"The other accused with him managed to escape, the team is looking for him. Jitendra was shot in his leg as he was trying to escape," said DCP (North) Shalini.
A team was formed under the leadership of DCP North Shalini who arrested the wanted to accuse Jitendra during the police encounter on Sitapur Bypass Road Ghaila bridge. At the same time, the second accused Rajesh escaped from the spot. The team is now searching Rajesh.
A reward of Rs. 25,000 has been declared for the special team who arrested the accused. The team that arrested the accused includes Inspector Kumar Singh, SI Dharmendra Kumar Singh, SI Santosh Kumar, Vishwanath Singh, Rannvijay Singh, Sudhir, Manoj, Kaushalendra, Anuj, Rahul, Mithilesh, Jeet, Atul Pandey.
An administrative officer of Kabir Math was shot allegedly by some people who came to book the place for a wedding a couple of weeks ago. He succumbed to injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Kabir Math is located in the Hasanganj police station area of Lucknow.
