New Delhi: As the number of coronavirus positive cases in India has crossed the 7000 mark, many state governments have made wearing a face mask compulsory for people.

People are increasingly wearing gloves and masks in public, in order to protect themselves and reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Now, people across the country are finding used masks as well as gloves and disinfectant wipes littering the roads.

ETV Bharat spoke to Ritu Sethi, a nursing supervisor at Fortis Hospital, in this regard. She advised that the used masks and gloves should be disposed properly or else it can also infect people.

"Many people are throwing the used masks and gloves in open. Which can prove to be very dangerous. If someone comes in contact with it, the person will get infected. After using masks and gloves, everyone should wrap it in a paper envelope or paper and throw it in a dustbin," Ritu Sethi said.
