New Delhi: A five-member team has been formed by Congress interim chief Sonia Gandhi with an intention to visit riot-affected areas in northeast Delhi. The committee will include veteran leaders Mukul Wasnik, Tariq Anwar, Sushmita Dev, Shaktisinh Gohil and Kumari Selja.
The entire team will visit the affected areas and submit a detailed report to Gandhi. Opposition has been slamming the central govt over violence that erupted in Delhi in which 42 people have been killed and more than 300 injured.
''Congress President Sonia Gandhi formed a 5-member committee that will visit the affected areas and hospitals to study from today. We will submit a detailed to the her. We have also submitted a memorandum to the President Ram Nath Kovind,'' said a team member Mukul Wasnik.

Wasnik said, ''Our party has also formed different teams at the state and district level which will visit the riot-affected areas to restore peace. We will talk to every affected person. It may take time,so no deadline has been fixed for the final submission of the report.''
On being asked about the FIR registered against AAP councilor Tahir Hussain, Mukul said, ''I will not make any personal comment on this. But if any member of a political party is involved in violence,our party demands that strict action should be taken."
Condemning the violence in Delhi, Congress Working Committee and adopted a resolution and Sonia Gandhi had demanded resignation of Home Minister Amit Shah.
