Bengaluru: Former President Pranab Mukherjee was a devout person, in a political career spanning over five decades he witnessed many setbacks, however it is rumoured that Shambulingeshwara temple in Bidar city of Karnataka changed his political career for the best, N.V Reddy, priest of Shambulingeshwara temple said on Wednesday.
Pranab Mukherjee had a profound faith in the divine power of Shambulingeshwara, he added. "The former President visited the Shambulingeshwara temple almost every election. He was in contact with us for the last 25 years of his political career. Recently, I went to Delhi in March before coronavirus-induced lockdown and offered him Prasada," the priest revealed.

In retrospect, he underlined "Pranab Da was an exceptional human being. His work was respected by the opposition party as well. He is the pride of our India. He won the Lok Sabha twice and I remember in a conversation I had told him to make the best choice of the constituency."
