Senior BJP leader Usha Vidyarthi joins LJP

Usha Vidyarthi on Wednesday joined Lok Janshakti Party and said some drastic decisions were needed to take Bihar forward and Chirag's 'Bihar first, Bihari first' vision is a great idea.

New Delhi: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Usha Vidyarthi on Wednesday joined Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) in the presence of the party's national president and MP Chirag Paswan in Delhi.

According to sources, she can contest assembly elections from Paliganj in Bihar.

Backing Chirag's decision, Usha said that LJP is contesting assembly elections from Bihar after separating from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and that is the right decision.

"Some drastic decisions were needed to take Bihar forward and Chirag's 'Bihar first, Bihari first' vision is a great idea," she said.

LJP separated from Bihar NDA on Sunday and is contesting on 143 seats. However, LJP maintains its stand in NDA at the center.

It is speculated that many leaders of Janata Dal (United) (JDU) and BJP can join LJP in the coming time. Yesterday, Rajendra Singh, a strong leader of the Bihar BJP, joined the LJP.

Ram Vilas Paswan will continue to be a minister in the central government. Bihar NDA currently has JDU, BJP, Hindustani Awam Morcha, and Vikassheel Insaan Party.

JDU is contesting 122 seats in Bihar NDA. BJP is contesting 121 seats. JDU has given 7 seats to Hindustani Awam Morcha with its quota. BJP can give some seats to the developing INS party with its quota.
