Security agencies on alert after threat of attack by JeM

New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry has put all its security and intelligence agencies on alert following an intelligence report that Pakistan based Jaish-e- Mohammed might try to carry out attacks at major locations across India, sources said on Wednesday.

Quoting the intelligence report, a top level official on the condition of anonymity said that major targets were the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi and Mumbai.

According to reports, Rauf Azghar, the younger brother of JeM chief Masood Azhar has moved to Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) after getting directions from Rawalpindi.

The development took place after the Parliament approved a resolution abrogating special status to Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 of the Constitution and a bill for splitting the state into two Union Territories.

Meanwhile, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval reviewed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir earlier today with top military and intelligence officials. He also interacted with local people in the Kashmir valley.
