New Delhi: A Supreme Court bench led by Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde, on Wednesday ordered the Assam government to file a reply over a petition which claimed that tea garden workers in the state were not being given their due ration and wages.
The court asked the government to file a reply in 10 days and adjourned the matter for further hearing.

Senior Advocate Collin Gonsalves appearing on the behalf of the tea garden workers said that none of the tea gardens in the state are paying wages to its workers leaving them penniless and starving amid coronavirus-induced lockdown.
