New Delhi: Jharkhand Education Minister Neera Yadav sparked a row when he claimed that Sanskrit or Hindi should be included in the school curriculum in a special meeting of the Central Education Advisory Board on National Education Policy held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on Saturday.
The meeting was also attended by Union HRD Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal 'Nishank' and education ministers of the states.
"A suggestion of having Anganwadi centers and primary schools on the same campus was made. We also pointed out to make science more interesting, facilitated with good infrastructural labs as students are losing interest in the subject," said Neera Yadav.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Yadav said that a request was made to consider the jobs of para-teachers as opposed to regular teachers as they cannot be removed straight away.
"We also suggested that moral education, disaster management, and water conservation should also be included in the curriculum and physical education should be made compulsory," said Jharkhand Education Minister.
Neera Yadav also pitched that Sanskrit or Hindi should be included compulsorily in the curriculum till class XII.
Central Education Advisory Board is considered the most important educational advisory body of the government.
