New Delhi: After Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh expressed his disappointment over Rahul Gandhi's resignation from Congress as the party president, he urged the Congress Working Committee (CWC) to appoint a 'young leader' who will be able to connect with India's large youth population and its grassroots.

Reports are doing rounds that Rajasthan Dy CM, Sachin Pilot; Jyotiraditya Scindia Congress General Secretary in-charge of Western Uttar Pradesh and Milind Deora, Mumbai Congress President are likely to be chosen as the next Congress president.

Speaking to ETV Bharat, political observer, Zainab Sikandar suggested that a strong, fierce leader is now mandatory for the grand old party to revive.

On being asked about who could be the next President, Sikandar said Pilot could be the next chief considering his contribution in developing Rajasthan Congress.

She also said that a presidential-type election has begun in India, where people are voting for a particular leader.

She said people are confused about to vote for!

She said people were unable to decide as a number of contenders for PM from the Mahagathbandhan had emerged. Stating this as the reason, she said Pilot will be the best face for Congress as the moment.

Although many names are doing rounds, a name will be picked only after the CWC commences next week.

Intro:नई दिल्ली। पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री व कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह ने राहुल गांधी के पार्टी अध्यक्ष पद छोड़ने को निराशाजनक बताया और कहां की किसी युवा नेता को ही कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष के तौर पर राहुल गांधी की जगह लेनी चाहिए।

इस पर ईटीवी भारत ने राजनीति विशेषज्ञ ज़ैनब सिकंदर की प्रतिक्रिया जाननी चाही तो उन्होंने कहा कि कांग्रेस को एक प्रखर और आक्रामक छवि वाला नेता चाहिए जो प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और अमित शाह जैसे नेताओं का सामना कर सके। उन्होंने कहा कि मोदी-शाह की जोड़ी अपने काम को लेकर बहुत संजीदा है और उनको दावेदारी देने के लिए कांग्रेस में एक आक्रामक और युवा चेहरे की जरूरत है।

Body:जब जैनब से पूछा गया कि उन्हें कांग्रेस में वह कौनसा युवा चेहरा नजर आता है जो कांग्रेस का राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष बन सकता है तो उन्होंने कहा की फिलहाल सचिन पायलट को यह पद दिया जाना चाहिए क्योंकि जब उन्हें राजस्थान कांग्रेस का जनरल सेक्रेट्री नियुक्त किया गया तब उन्होंने पार्टी को निचले स्तर से मजबूत किया और वहां पर वह जीतने में कामयाब भी हुए।

हालांकि जब उनसे यह पूछा गया कि वह यह काम लोकसभा चुनाव के दौरान क्यों नहीं कर सके तो उन्होंने कहा कि देश में 'प्रेसीडेंशियल स्टाइल' इलेक्शन शुरू हो गया है और नरेंद्र मोदी की छवि वाला कोई नहीं है। लोकसभा चुनाव के दौरान विपक्ष में प्रधानमंत्री पद के दावेदार मायावती, चंद्रबाबू नायडू, कांग्रेस पार्टी के नेता समेत कई अन्य लोग थे। इसलिए महागठबंधन की हार का कारण यह भी है।

Conclusion:उन्होंने कहा कि कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह को पंजाब पर ही ध्यान देना चाहिए और और अगर उन्हें कांग्रेस का राष्ट्रीय अध्यक्ष बनना होता तो वह खुद ही अपनी बात पार्टी से कहते जिसका संज्ञान उनकी पार्टी जरूर लेती।

राजनीतिक विशेषज्ञ ने कमलनाथ, कैप्टन अमरिंदर सिंह, अशोक गहलोत को कांग्रेस पार्टी का 'ओल्ड गार्ड' बताया और कहा कि उन्हें अपने क्षेत्र में ध्यान देना चाहिए और वहीं रहकर पार्टी के लिए जमीनी स्तर पर कार्य शुरू करना चाहिए।
