Chennai: After the demise of legendary playback singer SP Balasubrahmanyam, rumours spread that SPB's family was short of money to pay the hospital. SPB was admitted in MGM hospital on August 5 until his death on September 24.
False information spread on the internet that SPB's family sought help from the Tamil Nadu government but was denied and it was Vice President who reciprocated instantaneously.
SPB's son, SP Charan in impromptu social media live quashed the rumours stating it to be hogwash, disheartening.
"Without proper consultation, a single person has added distress to the hospital and our family. This could not be done by SPB's fans. SPB's morale is based on forgiveness. SPB would have forgiven the perpetrator if he was alive. I forgive him but I hope that he become sensical", said S P Charan.

"We are planning a press conference along with the hospital authorities and we will make the accounts transparent before the public. It is sad that we have to do this. A simple act online has disturbed us while we are mourning the loss," he added.
" As a family, we are wholeheartedly grateful for MGM hospital's service. It felt home while going to the hospital. The doctors used to console and support us every day. MD Dr Prashanth, Chairman Dr Rajagopal have been sending me prayers every morning relentlessly. As a family, we owe the hospital a lot.
Even Apollo hospital helped us by providing MGM hospital with the equipment that was needed", he said.
