Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami on Friday said the official committee set up to recommend the kind of industries that can start operations will submit its report on Monday.
He also said, the state has received 24,000 rapid test kits from China to carry out coronavirus infection diagnostic tests.
Speaking to reporters at Salem, Palaniswami said an official committee headed by finance secretary set up to study and recommend the kind of industries that can restart production will submit its report on Monday.
Based on that, the government will allow the industrial units in rural areas to restart production, he added.
On the rapid test kits, he said 24,000 kits have arrived from China as against the ordered and paid quantity of 1.25 lakh kits.
"The government will take steps to get the remaining test kits. The Central government has offered 12,000 kits but we have asked for 50,000 kits. The government has passed an order to procure 400,000 kits," Palaniswami said.
Queried about the criticism of DMK President M K Stalin, the Chief Minister said there is no need to answer his questions and the government does not bother about him.
