As soon as the coronavirus debate concluded, the Opposition MPs once again created ruckus over the Delhi Violence issue, demanding a discussion on the same. Chairman Venkaiah Naidu then adjourned proceedings till tomorrow.

Leader of Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad suggested the government to make multi-lingual announcements in public spaces especially at railway stations and bus stands. "The entire nation is in panic," he said.

The Health Minister said the government is taking all necessary measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in India.
He further informed that a 24X7 control room is functional, and that the government is constantly in touch with WHO headquartes. "Our focus is on adherence to global standards on preparedness against disease," he said.

"Indian citizens are advised to refrain from travel to places like China and Korea and other Covid-19 countries," the Health Minister said.
He further informed that the Indian embassy is in touch with embassies in China.
He said that sufficient isolated beds have been made available at tertiary facilities across the nation.

Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan said that India initiated required preparedness and action on coronavirus since January 17, much before the advice of the WHO.
"Till March 4, there have been 29 positive cases of Coronavirus in India," he further informed.

"Since the govt has decided to hold a discussion on Delhi violence on March 11, we request that if government puts a statement on the floor of the house, the discussion should be confined to it only," Leader of the Opposition Ghulam Nabi Azad said.
He also suggested that the entire day be set aside for debate on the coronavirus issue.

Opposition leaders from Congress, Samajwadi Party, Aam Aadmi Party and CPI on Thursday gave a suspension of Business notice in Rajya Sabha over the Delhi violence.
Congress leaders Ghulam Nabi Azad and Anand Sharma have given suspension of Business Notice under rule 267 over the 'need to provide relief to the violence-affected families in the national capital and to set up an independent inquiry commission'.
