Jalore: Rajasthan police on Monday arrested one person and detained two others for allegedly abducting and raping two minor girls in Jalore district. The victims aged 14 and 17 years are cousins.
The two minors in their statement to police said that they were abducted, raped and abandoned in the hills by four people namely Chetanram, Ashok, Tejaram and Peeraram. Police found the victims in an unconscious state on Sunday in Sunda hills following which they were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Jalore collector Himanshu Gupta and MLA Puraram Choudhary visited the victims and their family in the hospitals.
Himanshu Gupta told ETV Bharat, "The district administration officials met the victims and their family in the hospital and assured them of justice. Three people are in police custody and efforts are on to nab the fourth one."
An FIR was registered by the police in which the victims stated that they were kidnapped, taken to an isolated place and gang-raped by four men.

Police are looking into the matter and all the accused are being interrogated. A case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POSCO) Act has been registered.
"We have registered a case based on a complaint by victims' family members. 4 teams have been dispatched in search of the accused,' said Dashrath Singh, SP, Sanchor, Jalore.
According to the NCRB data 2019, Rajasthan has topped in crime against Dalit women. Crimes against women increased by nearly 50 per cent in Rajasthan in 2019 with a total of 41,155 cases being registered, which is 13,561 more than the previous year.
