New Delhi: Two iconic stations of Indian Railways, New Delhi and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in Mumbai, which are also among the busiest with the footfall of around 4.5 lakh daily, are set to undergo a complete transformation under the station redevelopment plan of the Ministry of Railways.

The railway stations will be redeveloped under the Public-Private Partnership Model, for which RFQs have been invited by Railways. Both the stations are expected to be redeveloped over four years after signing of the concession agreement.

The aim of redeveloping New Delhi Railway Station is to create new community space for public, smooth and congestion free connectivity to the station, and also providing modern commercial areas to the passengers.
