Rae Bareli (Uttar Pradesh): In an interesting turn of events, Rae Bareli Congress MLA from Harchandpur Rakesh Pratap Singh felicitated the man who had thrown ink at Aam Admi Party MLA Somnath Bharti when the MLA was engaged in a verbal duel with police personnel on Monday during his visit to the state.
The man, Jitendra Singh, is a worker of the Hindu Yuva Vahini (HYV).
The MLA garlanded Jitendra Singh and gave him a cash award of Rs 51,000 at his home in Rae Bareli. Jitendra Singh claims to have attacked Bharti for making derogatory comments about Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who had formed the Hindu Yuva Vahini.
The MLA termed the act of the Yuva Vahini leader as something that saved the pride of Hindus and people of Raebareli and giving a befitting reply to Bharti for using derogatory remark for Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

Rakesh Pratap who felicitated the young leader is brother of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Lok Sabha 2019 elections candidate for Raebareli, Dinesh Pratap Singh. He was pitched by the BJP against Congress President Sonia Gandhi.
Earlier, on January 11, ink was thrown on Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Somnath Bharti while he was going to inspect some government schools.
Bharti was involved in a heated argument with police officials over his visit when an alleged right-wing activist threw ink on him.
The AAP leader had reached Rae Bareli on Sunday night and was stopped from moving out of the guest house by the police on Monday.
