As per a tweet by the company mentioned that it is the world's first 5G and AI enabled platform. This robotics platform will empower developers and manufacturers to create the next generation of high-compute, low-power robots and drones for the consumer, enterprise, defense, industrial and professional service sectors.

This platform offers customization and flexibility to the developers so their plans take a reality and also helps them commercially.
The Qualcomm Robotics RB5 platform,with Qualcomm QRB5165 processor is customized for robotics applications, helps in AI and machine learning (ML), computer vision or enhanced video analytics (EVA). With a a powerful image signal processor (ISP), it supports for seven concurrent cameras.
With the Qualcomm Robotics RB5 platform and the Qualcomm QRB5165, the company offers various designs and solutions, supporting the industrial-grade temperature range and also controlling security at various levels.
Currently, over 30 companies are developing necessary hardware and software to enable various robotics applications with this platform that includes Autocore, Autoware Foundation, Intel RealSense, Open Robotics, Panasonic and others.

- For high power computing performance, the processor integrates Octa Core Qualcomm Kryo 585 CPU, powerful Qualcomm Adreno 650 GPU, multiple DSPs (compute, audio and sensor) and ISPs.
- It also contains a dedicated, powerful AI engine, which includes the Hexagon Tensor Accelerator, and dedicated computer vision hardware block.
