Hyderabad: Commenting over the exit polls post Maharashtra and Haryana elections, former Uttarakhand Chief minister Harish Rawat on Tuesday asserted that the citizens of our country are very wise and must have cast their vote based on agendas like unemployment, farmers' issues, creation of jobs, inflation etc., that very much coincide with the Congress' poll agenda.
The senior Congress leader believes that people of Maharashtra and Haryana have voted for Congress which has put forward real issues in front of the people rather than rooting for the concepts like nationalism.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Rawat said during the Lok Sabha elections the saffron party managed to retain its power by focusing on the Pulwama terror attack issue and Balakot airstrike.
However, economic slowdown, price rise, job scarcity etc., are the real issues that take a toll on an average individual. Referring to this, Rawat said that Congress has included these in their agenda and therefore, people are bound to take Congress' side this time.
If these issues are taken into consideration, then Congress' will definitely be in power, said Rawat.
