New Delhi: A day after pro-Pakistan slogans were alleged raised at AIMIM's chief Asaduddin Owaisi's anti-CAA rally in Bengaluru and his party member Waris Pathan made communal statements, BJP ideologue Rakesh Sinha termed it as 'shameful incident'.
While speaking to ETV Bharat, Sinha said, " The statement is condemnable. Earlier in Owaisi's rally, it used to happen backstage and now on the stage"
"With such statements, Owaisi is spreading hatred in the country. He (Owaisi) on stage never said 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' or 'Vande Mataram'," he added.
Sinha said that he will only trust Owaisi in this matter when the party chief will raise pro India slogans.
"Since the accused student is arrested by the police, I want to see whether Owaisi will become a witness in her case or not." he further added.
Referring to the AIMIM party member statement, where he said that 15 crore Muslims can dominate 100 crore Hindus, Sinha said, "This is a highly provocative response. These people have become habitual offenders and are splitting the country ."
Earlier, while addressing an anti-CAA rally at Kalaburagi in Karnataka, Waris Pathan said, "The time has now come for us to unite and achieve freedom. Remember we are 15 crore but can dominate over 100 crores."
This all started after a student named Amulya raised 'Pakistan zindabad' slogan at an anti-CAA rally organised by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi here on Thursday.
A case has been registered under Section 124A (Offence of sedition) of the Indian Penal Code against Amulya.
