New Delhi: Advocate Supriya Pandita filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) in the Supreme Court seeking a CBI probe into the gathering of migrants at Anand Vihar Bus Terminal and at the Markaz in Nizamuddin.
According to reports, PIL also sought directions to the government to show the steps taken by it to control the spread of novel coronavirus and direct them to take measures to stop the gathering of people.

Citing the grounds for her PIL, advocate Supriya mentioned the incident when tens of thousands of migrants tried crossing the Delhi border and contended that the cases of COVID-19 have increased after the assembly at Anand Vihar and Nizamuddin and the government failed to stop them from gathering.
She alleged that the people who attended the markaz even were not arrested and the event was allowed to take place and overcrowded buses were allowed to carry migrants from Anand Vihar.
