New Delhi: People's Democratic Party (PDP) MP Nazir Ahmed Laway welcomed the government's decision to release former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah, who was put under house arrest after the modification of Article 370 on August 5 last year.
Speaking to ETV Bharat here, the PDP Rajya Sabha MP said, "I appreciate that the government has released Farooq Abdullah. From time to time, I have raised this issue inside and outside the Parliament."
He also pointed out that after the release of the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir a political revolution will initiate.
"The act has sent a positive message to the people and now they are hopeful, " he said.

He said that the leaders of different political parties may have different ideologies but they all want to serve the region.
Laway also urged the government to restore internet connectivity in the region, saying it would help the people in various ways.
Meanwhile, Abdullah after being detained for over seven months under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA), met his son, Omar Abdullah, in Srinagar on Saturday.
