Panaji: Former Defence Minister and Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar who passed away on Sunday will be cremated with full state honours at 5 pm on Monday.
According to reports, the mortal remains will be taken to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office at Panaji at 9:30 am and will be kept there for an hour. At 10:30 am, the mortal remains will be taken to a state government operated culture and arts centre.
The remains will be kept there till 4 pm for the public to pay their last respect. Thereafter, at 5 pm the BJP leader's mortal remains will be taken to Miramar beach for cremation.
Parrikar was diagnosed with advanced pancreatic cancer in February last year. The leader has been in and out ofhospital since then.
While the Union Home ministry has announced national mourning on Monday, it will be 7-day mourning in the Goa.
