Kadapa (Andhra Pradesh): Panic gripped the locals of Veerannagattupalli village at Vempally Mandal Idupulapaya in Andhra Pradesh's Kadapa district after a wild bear ventured into the area late last night.
According to sources, the animal strayed into the human habitation late last night from the nearby forest area. Locals spotted the omnivorous animal in the colony and locked their houses immediately in order to avoid any man-animal conflict. However, some residents also recorded a video of the animal wandering in the area.
The animal is suspected to have entered into the human settlement in search of food. On receiving information from the locals, the forest officials launched the operation to catch the wild animal, sources said.
Reportedly, the animal did not cause any harm to humans or properties during the venture into the village. However, the locals were panic-stricken after spotting the wild animal, sources added.
