New Delhi: Criticizing Congress, AAP and TMC for opposing the newly Citizenship (Amendment) Act, the BJP on Tuesday said that by denouncing the law they are proving fodder to anti-national elements that do not want to see India as one country.
"There are some Islamic elements that do not want to see the country as one. They also have unholy alliance with few people in AMU and Jamia Millia Islamia universities and whenever they see a situation like this, they try to exploit it," BJP MP Rakesh Sinha told ETV Bharat here.
Sinha reassured the citizens saying that National Register of Citizens (NRC) of India would be prepared according to the constitution and there was nothing to worry about it.
"There's is nothing to worry as far as citizens of India are concerned. The only aim of the proposed NRC is to identify and prepare a list of Indian citizens and of those who are living here illegally.
He expressed concern that there are "Pakistan and Taliban inspired elements" in the country and they try to strengthen themselves in disturbing situations like this.
On being asked about the opposition parties opposing the CAA, the BJP Rajya Sabha MP said they have lost ground and public have already rejected them.
