New Delhi: National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on Monday mooted three points formula to fight against terrorism even as he emphasised for a single counter-terrorism agency to fight against the menace.
Addressing a two-day-long conference of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in New Delhi, Doval said that one should recognise as to who are the terrorists, then which are the countries supporting them and how are the terrorist funded.
He was addressing chiefs of Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and Special Task Force (STF) coming from different states across India.
Brigadier (retd) BK Khanna speaking to ETV Bharat He said that if a criminal has a support of a state, "It becomes a great challenge to fight terrorism.
"Pointing that lack of a single anti-terrorism agency is a major problem, Doval emphasised for strong coordination between state ATS teams.
NIA director-general Yogesh Chandra Modi, however, said that Bangladesh based Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) has started looking for bases in Maharastra, Kerala, Bihar and Karnataka.
His statement assumes significance as the JMB have already made its presence in Assam, West Bengal and Jharkhand.
"These terrorists are taking the advantage of migrants coming from Bangladesh...names of 125 suspects have been shared with related agencies," said NIA DG.
Talking to ETV Bharat, Brigadier (retd) BK Khanna said that Pakistan backed ISI is supporting terrorism.
"The government of Bangladesh is helping India against terrorism but it's ISI who has been supporting terrorism," said Brigadier Khanna.
He also supported the idea of having a single counter-terrorism agency.
"Like chief of defence staff (CDS) proposal, there should be a single counter-terrorism agency," said Brigadier Khanna.
