Meeting of counsels on Jan 17, hearing after 3 weeks

The meeting of counsels is scheduled to be held on January 17 to decide on the issues to be raised and who will address what. Four senior advocates - CS Vaidyanathan, Abhishek Singhvi, Tushar Mehta, and Indira Jaising will be part of the meeting. SC says its Secretary General will coordinate with lawyers in reframing or adding issues to be dealt by it.

The hearing is scheduled to be held after three weeks.

Not hearing review petitions against Sabarimala verdict: SC

The nine-judge bench led by CJI SA Bobde clarifies that it is not going to hear the review petitions against Sabarimala verdict, but the questions referred in the review order passed on November 14.

"We are not hearing review pleas of Sabarimala case. We are considering issues referred to by a 5-judge bench earlier," the bench said.

The apex court had on November 14 asked a larger bench to re-examine various religious issues, including the entry of women into the Sabarimala Temple and mosques and the practice of female genital mutilation in the Dawoodi Bohra community.
