Ayodhya: Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, a trust set up to construct a Ram temple in Ayodhya, has said construction work for the much awaited worship place would not start unless and and until normalcy is restored in the country.
Champat Rai, general secretary, Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust said in Ayodhya that no work would be started unless and until everything normalizes. Coronavirus pandemic, which has claimed lakhs of lives and infected a large number of people across the nations, has disrupted the whole world. The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust, which was created as per the the Supreme Court verdict, said that it came to the conclusion of postponing construction and other related activities after consulting with all concerned.
"First comes the country and the society to us. No work would be started unless and until everything normalizes," Champat Rai, general secretary of the trust said in a video message here.He said let the country come out of the grip of coronavirus and then construction of Ram temple and other things would be looked into.
"We don't have any plan to celebrate anything before everything normalizes in the country," he said.
Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus infected people have been increasing in India with the country recording over 1500 cases in a single day on Monday.
Earlier, the trust had appealed to the district officials to avoid the Ram Navami fair. Additionally, they also asked devotees to not come to Ayodhya for Navrati.
