Bengaluru (Karnataka): The Bangalore International Airport Ltd is not planning to lay off any of its staffers amid the coronavirus crisis because of the airport authority's "robust management of its finances" said Hari Marar, Managing Director and CEO at Bangalore International Airport Ltd.
"We are not planning to lay off our staff because of the robust management of finances. Only 33% of the airport staff will be deployed at the airport, " said Marar while addressing the media.
On resumption of domestic flight operations after almost two months of coronavirus-induced lockdown, Marar said, "We are very glad that during these tough times we are able to resume domestic flight operations. This has happened because airlines and airports have come together to put together a very strong protocol on how people can travel in a safe environment. It includes the introduction of technology, frequent sanitisation and cleaning of surfaces."
