Talking exclusively to ETV Bharat, Anil Trigunayat who had served as an ambassador in Libya and Jordan said, "There are several lobbies against India. And, we don't need to give any credence to OIC as it is essentially driven by Pakistan."

The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation on Sunday said it was closely following the recent developments affecting Muslims in India as it voiced concern over the Citizenship Amendment Act.

The 57-member group of which Pakistan is an important part have been critical of India on a number of issues in the past. They have time and again raised fingers over human rights violation in Indian Kashmir. Though things changed earlier this year as former External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj delivered an address at the OIC.

Trigunayat asserted that India is a secular nation whose elected government has passed this act. He stressed that this act is largely for the persecuted minorities of these countries.
