New Delhi: In view of the recent Tablighi Jamat controversy, prominent Muslim Leaders have appealed to people who took part in the Jamat congregation to come forward for COVID-19 check-up.
Various leaders have issued video messages, appealing people not to hide, but cooperate with the authorities to check the spread of the virus.
Badruddin Ajmal, President of All India United Democratic Front, in a video message appealed to the people who have attended the Jamat congregation to save their families and neighbours by going to the nearest hospitals for a check-up. He advised them not to fear the police, but cooperate with the administration. He appealed the people to contact the responsible authorities and get themselves examined as soon as possible.

Maulana Arshad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind also spoke about the controversy. He said that it is a very dangerous virus which has brought even the highly advanced medical infrastructures of the world to their knees. He appealed to Muslims across the country to exercise caution. He asked people to stay away from each other and avoid gatherings - religious or otherwise.
Maulana Khalid Rasheed Firangi Mahli, member Muslim Personal Law Board, also appealed to Muslims across India, that if they carry any symptoms of the virus, they must get themselves checked up. He further said that if they must think of it as their religious duty.
