New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi once again attacked the Centre on Thursday, saying that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is ruining the nation.

Taking to Twitter, Gandhi shared a news report of the meeting of the Parliamentary panel on commerce in which concerns were reportedly raised about 10 crore jobs being in danger due to COVID-19.

"Modi is ruining the country," Gandhi wrote, mentioning the four issues of demonetisation, GST, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the "destruction" with regards to the economy and jobs.

"His capitalistic media has created an illusion, which will soon be broken," Gandhi added.

Over the past few weeks, the Congress leader has stepped up his attack on the Modi government, questioning it over a range of issues which include the Centre's handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, the border tensions with China, and even the Rafale deal.

Rahul's latest attack on the Modi government comes just a day after he questioned the offset contract and high cost, but welcomed the arrival of Rafale fighter jets in India.

He asked why each Rafale jet was purchased by the government at a cost of Rs 1,670 crore while the erstwhile Congress-led dispensation struck a deal for Rs 526 crore, and why the offset contract was given to a "bankrupt" private firm instead of the public-sector Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL).

"Congratulations to IAF for Rafale. Meanwhile, can Government of India (GOI) answer: Why each aircraft costs Rs 1670 crores instead of Rs 526 crores? Why 36 aircraft were bought instead of 126? Why was bankrupt Anil (Ambani's firm) given a Rs 30,000 crores contract instead of HAL," he asked on Twitter.
