Jaipur: Rajasthan Congress General Secretary Sushil Sharma in a controversial statement on Tuesday held Prime Minister Narendra Modi accountable for the failure of the Chandrayaan-2 mission.
Sushil Sharma said, "BJP leaders have a habit of taking success credits for every achievement. Had Modi not visited ISRO, the scientists there would have worked without disturbance and then Chandrayaan-2 mission would have been successful."
According to Sharma, Modi's presence deviated the scientists' attention and that's why the mission had a success rate of 95% only.
However, other Congress leaders have not shown support for the statement made by Sharma and have distanced themselves.
Expressing his viewpoint, INC leader Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said, "Big leaders keep going in such programs as it is an old tradition and the entire Congress party stands with the ISRO scientists and are proud of them."
