New Delhi: Rubbishing NDA government's criticism by Congress that it was not doing enough to help people in need during the on-going coronavirus crisis, the BJP on Thursday said what Congress could not do in 70 years of its rule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done it in the past six years only.
Addressing a press conference here, BJP General Secretary Bhupender Yadav said a lot has been done by the government for every section of the society and it would continue to serve people in future too.
"Our government has started various poor-friendly schemes and Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana and has provided money under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) to lakhs of people," he said.

He said the BJP has also been helping people during the current crisis.
The party distributed crores of food packets under 'Feed the needy' mission, the BJP leader said, adding that as the second Modi government is about to complete a year, the BJP would address virtual rallies and online press conferences would be organised and a letter written by the prime minister would be taken to about ten crore households in the country.
It would also highlight the works done by the NDA government at centre.
He said party president JP Nadda would address the worker live through a social media platform.
