New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry (MHA) has deployed 28 companies of the central armed police force (CAPFs) in Telangana, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Goa and Daman & Diu to control law and order situation.
Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla informed this to Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba in a letter written over the performance of the Ministry for the month of June. A copy of the letter is in possession of ETV Bharat.

The letter said that during the month of June, sanction for prosecution for following the charge sheet against 31 accused persons was also accorded in accordance with section 45 (1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 and Section 196 of CrPC.
The letter further said that crime and criminal tracking networks and systems (CCTNS) software has been deployed at 15214 out of 16050 police stations across the country. Rs 1827.02 crore has been released till date to states and UTs and central agencies for such technology network purpose, the letter signed by Bhalla said.
The Home Secretary said that MHA has received more than 123 Supreme Court and 260 High Court cases relating to COVID-19 pandemic and put of which more than 89 Supreme Court and 90 High Court cases have been disposed off.
"I reviewed the progress of investigation in North East riot cases and emphasised on the use of technology in Delhi police for improvement," said Bhalla in his letter written to the Cabinet Secretary.
The Home Secretary said that he has been constantly monitoring on India's fight against COVID-19 pandemic in terms of containment and other strategies.
Bhalla also informed that Home Minister Amit Shah personally reviewed the COVID-19 management in Delhi.
"Several effective steps have been taken for the management of COVID-19 situation in Delhi. These include four times increase in COVID-19 testing, the introduction of rapid antigen test, increasing COVID-19 beds to more than 15,000, a substantial increase in a number of ambulances to 609, the conduct of sero survey...and this has resulted in an overall improvement in COVID-19 situation in Delhi," Bhalla said in his letter.
