New Delhi: Emphasizing that Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been critical of Narendra Modi government on whatever it does, Union Minister and BJP leader Babul Supriyo on Wednesday sarcastically said that the TMC chief may not have understood the point behind removing the article 370 of the constitution from Jammu and Kashmir and that he was ready to discuss it with her in Bengali language.
The West Bengal Chief Minister a few days ago had opposed centre's move to make Hindi as the national language saying that all cultures and languages must be respected but one must not forget his/her mother tongue.
“...we should respect all languages and cultures equally. We may learn many languages but we should never forget our mother-language,” Banerjee had written on Twitter on the occasion of Hindi Divas on September 14.
The minister, interacting with the ETV Bharat here, said he would visit Bengal soon and if he gets an opportunity to meet the chief minister, he would discuss all issues of national importance with her using the local language.
"Some time she would say that democracy was in danger in the country, next she would charge union government for something else," the BJP minister said, adding that it was all politically motivated.
