UP and Centre in discussion to establish airport in Ayodhya

The Uttar Pradesh government has started discussions with the Centre to establish an airport in Ayodhya, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said in Parliament on Thursday.

"At present, Airports Authority of India (AAI) is in receipt of a proposal from the state government of UP indicating that the state government will develop the existing airstrip through state construction and designed services (UP Jal Board) under regional connectivity scheme (RCS)-UDAN."

Unauthorised colonies Bill moved in LS

Union minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that the process of digital mapping of 1,931 unauthorised colonies of Delhi will be completed by December 31 this year.

Moving the bill to grant ownership rights to residents of Delhi's unauthorised colonies for consideration, Puri said the process to map these colonies digitally should have started in 2008.

"We are uploading digital maps on the portal and giving the resident welfare association. Within the next few weeks, all maps of the colonies will be uploaded, " said Singh, MoS (Ind.), Housing and Urban Affairs.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slammed Pragya Singh Thakur over her controversial remark 

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said in Lok Sabha on Thursday that the BJP condemns any philosophy which describes Nathuram Godse as a patriot.

He also said that Mahatma Gandhi's philosophy was and remains relevant today and described him as a guide (marg darshak).

Singh said, " If someone considers Nathuram Godse as a 'deshbhakt', then our party condemns it. Mahatma Gandhi is an idol for us, he was our guiding light and will remain so."

His comments came after Congress and other opposition members raked up remarks made by BJP MP Pragya Thakur in the House on Wednesday on Godse.

New Delhi: The Lok Sabha on Thursday will consider three key Bills for consideration and passing -- that on regularisation of unauthorised colonies here, besides one on Income Tax amendment and another on the industrial dispute.

The National Capital Territory of Delhi (Recognition of Public Rights of Residents in Unauthorised Colonies) Bill, 2019 Bill will be moved by Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. He had introduced it on Tuesday.

The Bill is likely to benefit around 40 lakh residents in Delhi.

It will provide special provision for the national capital by recognising the property rights of ownership or transfer or mortgage in favour of residents of such colonies who are possessing properties on the basis of the power of attorney, agreement to sale, Will, possession letter, or any other document, including documents evidencing payment of consideration.

Union Minister Santosh Gangwar will move the Industrial Relations Code, 2019 Bill to consolidate and amend the laws relating to trade unions, conditions of employment in industrial establishment or undertaking, investigation, and settlement of industrial disputes.

The Taxation Laws (Amendment), Bill 2019 will be moved by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The Bill seeks to amend the Income Tax Act 1961 and the Finance (No. 2) Act, 2019.
